Consumer Price Index Development / Inflation in May 2020 Deflation of 0.29 percent

Abstract

May 2020, Lampung Combined CPI experienced an index decline from 105.08 in April 2020 to 104.78 in May 2020, thus deflation occurred by 0.29 percent.

Based on the calculation of calendar year inflation (point to point) in May 2020 experiencing inflation of 0.48 percent, while year on year (yoy) inflation in May 2020 against May 2019 was 1.64 percent.

Of the eleven expenditure groups, two expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely the food, beverage and tobacco group experienced deflation of 1.59 percent; and the recreational, sports, and cultural group 0.03 percent. In contrast, seven groups experienced inflation, namely the information, communication and financial services group experienced inflation of 1.32 percent; the personal care group and other services 0.53 percent; transportation group 0.33 percent; household appliances, equipment and routine maintenance group 0.29 percent; health group 0.25 percent; food and beverage / restaurant supply group 0.13 percent; and housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the other two expenditure groups did not experience changes in the index.
